- Scheduled Tournaments from 7:00 pm Tournaments will be Queensland Junior rated. In addition, only the classic tournaments will be rated with the Australian Chess Federation (ACF)
Sunday Afternoon
- Social chess from 1:00 pm till 4:30 pm

Year-Round Fun!
2026 is divided into four dynamic quarters, each offering 13 weeks of competitive and social play:
- Quarter 1: January – March
- Quarter 2: April – June
- Quarter 3: July – September
- Quarter 4: October – December
As a member, you’ll enjoy free entry to all regular club sessions — no door fees, ever! Each member can participate in more than 22+ sessions per quarter, including both ACF-rated and Queensland Junior-rated tournaments held on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. (Note: Our four special Family Day events are separately ticketed.)

The Immanuel Lutheran College Classic Chess Tournament
Let it be proclaimed throughout the realm:
Upon the 21st of April in the Year of Our Lord 2026, the commencement of the Grand Chess Classic of the ILC will begin 7:00 in the evening, warriors of wit and keepers of cunning shall gather for a contest most swift and noble —
The Prize of the winner's name will be enshrined in the Shield of Honour on the conclusion of the games set to be 26th May 2026
One Game per night over 6 consecutive weeks.
Sharpen thy mind as knights once honed their steel, for in this tourney every move is a stroke of destiny.
Come forth, brave challenger.
Take thy place at the board.
Prove thy valour, and may thy strategy shine as bright as a king’s blade.

Hear ye, noble wanderer of wit and wielder of cunning stratagems,
By decree of the High Council of the Enchanted Realm, thou art hereby summoned to partake in The Enchanted Gambit Rapid Chess Tournament, a contest where minds clash as fiercely as blades upon the fields of old.
On this hallowed day, champions shall gather beneath vaulted banners, as in the ancient tales when the Fellowship set forth from Rivendell, “seeking the strength to resist the Shadow.” So too shall thou muster thy courage, for the board is a battlefield, and every piece a soldier sworn to thy command.
Thus shall wisdom be thy shield, foresight thy sword, and patience thy steadfast steed.
Come forth, brave soul, and let thy presence grace this gathering. May thy gambits be bold, thy endgames resolute, and thy victory as radiant as the dawn over the Fortress City of Buderim.

ROOKS Castle Chess Tournament
Hear Ye, Hear Ye, All Warriors of the Checkered Realm
Let it be proclaimed throughout the land that the Rooks Castle Allegro Tournament shall soon open its mighty gates. Upon the sacred boards where kings are hunted and pawns rise to glory, six battles shall be waged over two noble Sundays:
Within these twin fortnights, brave contenders shall clash in six games of swift Allegro combat, where time is short, courage is long, and only the steadfast shall endure.
From the towering ramparts of the Rook’s domain, strategy shall be forged like iron in the smithy. Knights shall leap, bishops shall cut through the fray, and rooks—keepers of the castle—shall thunder down the ranks with righteous might.
Let all who seek honour, rivalry, and the thrill of noble contest gather beneath the banner of the Castle. Sharpen thy wits, steady thy hand, and prepare to storm the battlements of destiny.

The Grand Sorcerer's Gambit
Know ye this:
By candle’s glow and mystic hourglass, the Grand Sorcerer doth open his enchanted board and calleth forth all who dare test wit, speed, and nerve. Upon the sixty‑four sacred squares shall spells be cast not by wand nor word, but by swift hand and sharper mind.
On this night, no battle is long, no mercy slow—
for time itself is the fiercest foe.
By spellbound clock and hallowed board, the Grand Sorcerer summoneth thee to a night of blitz and bravado, where wit must fly faster than thought and mercy is slain by time itself.
Steel thy mind, trust thy cunning, and play thy gambit boldly—
for here, hesitation is defeat and glory favours the swift.

Royal Fork Allegro Chess Tournament
The Crown graciously invites you to partake in the Royal Fork Chess Tournament, a celebration of strategy, honour, and noble rivalry. Your presence shall lend distinction to the event, and your skill shall determine your legacy upon the Royal Board.
Let the trumpets sound and the banners rise, for the Kingdom announces the dawning of the Royal Fork, the sovereign tournament of chess where legends are forged and champions crowned.
You are invited to stand before the Crown not merely as a guest, but as a challenger in this most venerable trial of strategy. May your gambits be bold, your defences steadfast, and your forks—most royal.

This tournament is dedicated to the memory of Dr Adrienne John Jericho, a founding figure of Immanuel Lutheran College and a tireless advocate for education, character, and excellence. Dr Jericho believed passionately in nurturing young minds, encouraging strategic thinking, and building communities where people could thrive — values perfectly reflected in the game of chess.

An Invitation to The Evans Gambit Chess Tournament
This storied gambit, first unleashed by the Welsh sea captain William Davies Evans in the 1820s, is famed for its fearless pawn sacrifice on move four (4.b4) — a bold offering that grants White rapid development, central dominance, and fierce attacking chances.
Champions of old — Adolf Anderssen, Paul Morphy, and even Garry Kasparov, who revived the gambit with brilliant victories in 1995 — wielded this opening to produce games of breathtaking beauty and tactical fire.
